One of Jesus' most important statements to the church was the Great Commission. Matthew 28:19, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Discipleship is at the heart of our calling in life. Being a Christian means being a disciple. It means that our life begins to mirror and match Jesus Christ in His character, in His mind, in His heart, and in His body. This is a life long process of spiritual disciplines. At San Gabriel, it is our goal to have each person become a fully committed follower and disciple of Jesus Christ. |
