When someone asked Jesus what is the greatest command for our lives, Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." This is the heart of worship. Worship is our primary response as a human being to God. We worship God for who God is and what He has done. God the Creator, the Rescuer, and the Redeemer initiates our response to Him. The Bible teaches us that we love because God first loved us (1 John 4:19). God's wondrous acts, like creation, the Exodus, the Passover, and the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, all evoke a response. That proper response is worship. At San Gabriel, we seek to respond to God's grace, faithfulness, and love with excellent worship.
